For my first game, I've decided to develop a BOR mod.
Originally, I wanted to work on a FPS with a program I found through theisonzone's forum (I believe atreyu187 led me there, don't quote me on that one). However, seeing as it would be a very hard undertaking and that I have very little (actually no) programming experience whatsoever, I was told to try out a B.O.R mod first, since they are relatively easy to make and require little to no programming knowledge whatsoever.
I'm very skeptical as to the success of this game, if it ever comes to fruition. My main concern is that it will be horribly buggy, due to my inexperience and/or lack of man hours needed in beta testing. Also, there are so many B.O.R mods out there to download, I'm afraid that mine will become a sub-par mod that doesn't get much lime-light, if at all.
Putting my lack of self-esteem aside, I am confident that I will at least earn some more respect for myself when I complete this game.
As I hit important steps in the mod's creation, I will post it here, with video and/or screenshots if possible. Wish me luck guys!

So I began with my first steps into game development today. I hit up IsoZone's downloads for the Open BOR Tools, and let me tell you, there's plenty of things that go into it.
When people told me that anyone can create a BOR mod with relative ease, I thought, "Oh sweet, I can do this! I'll make a sick BOR mod!". Then I extracted all necessary files. Even with a simplified character creator, it looks all Greek to me. Looks like I'll be hitting up the boards and YouTube for help with where to begin.
I'll update if and when I make progress on the game. Thanks for reading peeps!
